Thomas Diary - A walk through my life

I participated in the Family Blessings Meeting on June 1, 2013, at 6 p.m., held at the Jesus Calls Prayer venue in Bishan. This gathering was presided over by Pastor Raja Thomas from Foo Chew Methodist Church, who recounted his brief personal journey of serving the tribal communities in Gujarat prior to his arrival in Singapore. Following his testimony, Pastor Raja Thomas delved into a discussion about how to inherit the Promises of God.

Isaiah 60:5 Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.

Isaiah 61:7 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.

To understand the promises of God, we can segregate into 4 points:

  1. Divine Glory – Exodus 33:14  And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. The promise was given to Moses when he was not sure how to lead. The Divine Glory signifies the promise of God for your life. When God is actively working in your life, He fills you with His Glory. The Glory of God will direct your life. This privilege is extended to all the children of God.
  2. Divine Holiness – Holiness is the qualification to receive the Divine Glory. Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. But sin is a stumbling block that prevents holiness
Isaiah 59:14 And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. Divine Holiness leads us to honesty, uprightness, equity, and straightforwardness. Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
Thus the Divine Holiness qualifies you for Divine Glory and the Divine Glory directs your life.
  3. Divine Grace
Lamentations 3:22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. The Divine Grace uplifts us.
  4. Divine Happiness
Habakkuk 3:17-18 17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: 18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Divine Happiness gives us strength.

Following the sermon, individuals came forward to seek his prayers. Praise God for a wonderful time 🙂
