Thomas Diary - A walk through my life

On the 7th Sept 2013, I attended the Seed Conference organized by Emmanuel Assemblies of God at YWCA, Dhoby Gaut. The session started at 9:30 am. Here are some of my recollections of the speech by L.T. Jeyachandran:

What is the mission of God for us?

Genesis 1:28

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Matthew 28:19

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Genesis 2:7

7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

We stand between God and Creation. Idolatry is worshiping creation rather than Creator. Nature is under us. We should listen to Word and also to World (Media). Listen to both to communicate truth in a proper way.

Genesis 2:15

15 And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

Adam had to work in the Garden of Eden. The way we do work is part of God’s plan.

The Spiritual world and Physical world are connected together. Jesus performed miracles purely out of love and compassion. We are here to meet all the needs of the people.

2 Chronicles 7:14

14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Genesis 3

3 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Adam and Eve declared autonomy from God by eating the forbidden fruit.

The first symptom was shame – unable to accept as I am. Jesus died to free us from the shame. The other consequences were child bearing became painful and work became a toil.

The mission of God also involves redemption of the creation of God. Every real thing has a counterfeit. Reincarnation is the counterfeit of Resurrection. Our body is going to be redeemed.

Romans 8:19-2119 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. 20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, 21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God

Colossians 1:19-2019 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; 20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven

Revelation 21:1-19

We will come down to reign on Earth during Millennium. We will not be in heaven forever.

Do your work the way God has called you to be.  Your vocation has to be your calling.

Colossians 3:22-23

22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

After the message, we had a wonderful breakfast. Praise God 🙂
