God continuously reveals Himself through Bible but the fullness of revelation is through the person of Jesus Christ.
Many people struggle to call God the Father due to pain and past struggles.
You and I need revelation of what God is like.
Jesus came to reveal God as a Father. The world didn’t knew Him as a Father.
John 1:18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
John 17:26 And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”
John 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent
John 17:4 I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.
3 things a son is called to do.
- A son is called for intimacy with Father. God wants to know you’re loved and cared. Father is the source of life. God wants to draw you into a great intimacy with Him.
- We are called to represent what God is like, manifest the nature of God. The way you treat people tells everything how you represent God. Our experience with God needs to be fresh, constant, daily. We are called to represent Him, to show what He’s like, His nature, His power.
John 17:6 “I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.
- We must discover the assignment and fulfill the assignment that God has given. Father gives the assignment.
Luke 2:49 And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”
Jesus had an assignment.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me [a]to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are [b]oppressed;
God put His Holy Spirit to show He loves you, you’re treasured, prized, valued!!
What’s God like?
Exodus 34:5-7 Now the Lord descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord. 6 And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, 7 keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”
How can you experience God’s love?
- hunger for God.
- Holy Spirit
- Worship – attracts the Presence of God.
