Thomas Diary - A walk through my life

20th Oct 2012, Saturday

Today, Geenu and I, attended the Family Blessings Meeting at the Jesus Calls’ Prayer Tower, Midview City, Bishan. Pastor Paul Ng, from Christ the Rock church,  shared the sermon and led the Worship.

The service started at 6 pm with beautiful Praise and Worship that lasted about 20 minutes. After praise and worship, Pastor Paul Ng shared the message on Jesus’ performing the miracle of converting water into wine, quoting scriptures from John 2.  When there was shortage of wine in the wedding party, Mary, the mother of Jesus, told Him about this problem. Jesus replied “ Woman, what does your concern have to do with me. My hour has not yet come”.

When we pray, we should not pour out our desires but we should pray by keeping God’s will in our mind, said Pastor Paul. Mary told the servants to do what Jesus tells them to do. Later Jesus asks the servants to fill the jars with water and give it to their master. When the master tasted the wine, he was amazed by the quality of the wine. The disciples and servants knew this miracle was performed by Jesus’ and they believed in Him.

Pastor Paul said, we are also like water pots in the early part of our life. But when Jesus pours His blessing in to our lives, we should also be a blessing to the people. We are the carriers of God’s blessing. We are purified by the blood of Jesus. Hebrews 13:15, 16 mentions Therefore by Him, let us continuously offer the sacrifice of praise to God that is the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good and to share for with such sacrifice God is well pleased. James 1:27 mentions “Pure and undefiled religion before God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

After the sermon, Pastor Paul prayed for each one individually and prayed over their needs. People were touched by his powerful prayers.

Praise God for a wonderful time 🙂
